Overview
Comprising of five characterful buildings, the distinctive micro-neighbourhood provides 120 expansive, light-filled apartments – as well as 5,000 sqm of high-quality commercial space including an on-site café and shared creative workspace. Stone Studios is an employment-led mixed-use development, which will provide significant employment opportunities for the local community. The development delivers a new public route connecting Hackney Wick station with the Queen Elizabeth Park.
We committed to working with the local community, ensuring that locally sourced building materials were used for construction. Local labour has also been used for the works wherever possible, with one of the residents working on the project as a construction trainee, and Telford funding his education.
We worked in collaboration Poplar Harca, The Creative Land Trust and the London Borugh of Hackney to deliver the scheme which completed in 2021.
